George Billings is Spanky's maternal uncle and conceivably the relative he was named after. Mrs. McFarland loves her brother, but Spanky's father does not, considering the man nothing more than an itinerant. George sends his sister a letter describing his traveling sideshow stationed at First Street And Main Street which includes a wildman from Borneo named Bumbo.
