This says Miss Pipps is the sixth grade teacher, while the Come Back, Miss Pipps page says she is the fifth grade teacher. Also, in watching the film, there is nothing that gives any indication Spanky could be a "student assistant." I don't see how anyone could conclude Spanky is anything other than a regular student in the class. He is about average height for the class, and an actor's age doesn't have to match his character's age. Rjh 05:36, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
Let's go with Sixth Grade since the Miss Pipps page represents updated more logical info than I was using when I wrote the short. If Spanky is not an assistant he has to have been left back, otherwise she she has both Fifth Graders and Sixth Graders in the room. Thor2000 16:16, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Didn't you say somewhere else that grades were commonly mixed in classrooms in the past? Spanky and Buckwheat sat in the same classroom all the way back to Teacher's Beau.(1935), and are in the same class into Mighty Lak A Goat (1942). I refuse to believe Spanky was any kind of assistant at age six, and find it hard to believe he had been held back two or three years by that age; the character is too clever. I don't remember grades ever being mentioned, but am not sure of that. Also, you could have made the change. Rjh 04:22, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
- In Miss Crabtree's classroom, she definitely had children of varied ages, by by Miss Jones after, the kids at least seemed consistent except where Spany and Porky appeared in the same class. I figured out where to place all of Spanky's teachers and that what I still go by. Maybe I should add that to his bio for future referemces? Thor2000 16:22, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
