The Short[]
Plot: Butch has been playing practical jokes on everyone in the neighborhood. Alfalfa has been the focus of most of them, so they plan ahead to his twelfth birthday party to get even with him for all the pranks. Intercepting the birthday pineapple cake, they replace one of the candles with a firecracker, but things go wrong when Butch's mother asks Alfalfa to sing a birthday song for Butch. This means Alfalfa is right over the cake when it explodes, sending cake spraying over the entire room when it goes.

Notes/Trivia:
- This short was missing from the M-G-M syndication package on some TV stations.
- Marie Blake, who plays Butch's mother in this short is the sister of M-G-M singing star, Jeanette MacDonald. Marie would later legally change her name to Blossom Rock, later becoming well-known for playing Grand Mama Addams in The Addams Family from 1963 to 1965. She also played the titular character in Alfalfa's Aunt.
- The address on the cake box reads "Tommy "Butch" Bond - 216 Camden Street".
- This short provides more insight that Butch and Tommy (from the older pre-Spanky episodes) are the same character.
