History: Peggy Lenore Ahern was born in Douglas, Arizona to Fred and Elizabeth Ahern on March 9, 1917. Her family moved to Culver City in 1921. Her father was in real estate and helped Harry Culver, the founder of Culver City, develop the area. She and her younger sister Lassie Lou Ahern toured vaudeville with a song and dance act from 1932 to 1939. Her mother was the wardrobe and hair stylist for both Lassie Lou and Peggy during their stage and film career. Her first Sons of the Desert appearance was at the Hollywood 1980 International Convention as a part of the Our Gang Reunion with 24 other "Little Rascals" along with Rosina Lawrence and the boss, Hal Roach. She found many new fans and was blown away by the affection she received through the Sons. Both Peggy and Lassie Lou were long time members of the Way Out West Tent of the Sons of the Desert attending many banquets and meetings. She passed away at the age of 95, survived by Lassie Lou and her two daughters, Jill and Beth Blaylock, who would sometimes accompany the ladies on their reunions.
