NIX radio is a local Greenpoint radio station in competition with KHJ Radio. Like the competition, the station is known for putting on radio serials such as the playlet "The Thirteenth Murder" with radio announcer Mr. Gilbert doing the voice of Dr. Nemo. In Forgotten Babies, the radio play is so convincing that a phone operator hearing it over the phone traces the call and sends the police to the house where the phone is off the hook.
