Mrs. Nickol is the widowed mother of Mary Jane. She owns a shop, but has trouble paying the rent when Mr. Jacobson, a rival merchant, opens a bigger store across the street. The gang, with some cooperative animals, helps her get her customers back and run Jacobson out of town after he threatens her with a gun.
