History: Michael "Mickey" Laughlin was the younger brother of William Laughlin, who played Froggy. He followed Billy into the shorts as a replacement to George McFarland as Spanky, the second to last of the remaining stars from the Hal Roach stars to remain in the series with the exception of William Thomas Jr. as Buckwheat. In 1983, He had a normal life after leaving acting. outliving his brother who was killed while riding his bicycle in 1948. While living in Palmdale, California, he took the time to attend Darla Jean Hood's funeral and stay in touch with Bill Thomas and his mother. He passed away in 1996.
