The Short[]

Plot: This short seems to be some sort of flashback on how Mary met the gang. It turns out that she is the daughter of wealthy parents, but she is terribly lonely because her parents have no time for her and her governess is too strict for her. Her only friend, the gardener on the family estate, gives her dolls which she loves very much, reading to them like babies; when she falls asleep, she has a dream they play on her furniture and explore the room. Her governess soon fnds the dolls and throws them out of the house with the refuse. Meanwhile, four boys who look like the dolls come to deliver the laundry to the house, and when Mary can't find her dolls, she runs outside, spots the boys, and believes that they have come to life. She invites the gang into her house, and they explore and have fun while Mary makes sandwiches. Among the gang's adventures include all of them slipping repeatedly on a throw rug and getting scared of the disembodied voices from the radio. When the governess returns and calls the police to get rid of the boys, all the policeman who arrives finds are the dolls rescued from the trash by the gardener. She's carried away by the police, and Mary soon learns that the gang gets paid by the doll-maker for the dolls he makes to look like them.
