History: Lassie Lou Ahern was born in Los Angeles, California to Fred and Elizabeth Ahern on June 25, 1920. Her family moved to Culver City in 1921. Her father was in real estate and helped Harry Culver, the founder of Culver City, develop the area. She and her older sister Peggy Ahern toured vaudeville with a song and dance act from 1932 to 1939. Her mother was the wardrobe and hair stylist for both Lassie Lou and Peggy during their stage and film career. Both Peggy and Lassie Lou were longtime members of the Way Out West Tent of the Sons of the Desert attending many banquets and meetings.
