Spanky gets a message from his older brother Bill in boot camp telling him to help take care of things at home. Taking a cue from the letter, Spanky turns the gang into a mini-fighting force and leads them to the local army recruiting office. The recruiting officer there, Major Sanford, advises the gang they are best needed at home organizing work details, cleaning up fire hazards, encouraging the sale of defense saving stamps and recycling old aluminum for planes. After hearing what they can do, Spanky leads the gang through a parade through town.

Notes/Trivia:

  • Spanky names his other brother as "Bill" in the episode; since this character never appears in the series, one may speculate that this name also applies to Breezy Brisbane.
  • This short had very little plot and was basically an educational film for the National Defense Program.
  • Robert Blake who plays Mickey Gubitosi appears but isn't credited.
