History: Melvyn Gary Jasgur was hired to play Darla's little brother Junior beginning in 1937, staying through fifteen shorts as one of the few peripheral characters to survive into the M-G-M years. He departed the series just before he might have begun to retain lasting memories of being involved in it, and his later knowledge of those days was based entirely on the recollections of his family, the film footage itself and the memories of the fans. He went on to lead a normal life, operating a retail spa business as an adult. He married in 1956 and eventually had four children. He passed away at the age of fifty-eight in 1994, leaving behind ten grandchildren.
