Mr. Wade
Biography[]
Mr. Wade is a wealthy straight-faced Greenpoint businessman and philanthropist who sponsors the Happy Home Orphanage, maintained by Mr. and Mrs. Crutch. He doesn't seem to like Mr. Crutch and just barely tolerates his presence in purpose. Mr. Wade's daughter, Mary Wade, however, soon discovers the Crutchs's cruelty to the kids, discovering they run the orphanage like a jail, selling their toys and nice clothes. She has the help of her boyfriend, Dick, to help report them, possibly leading to the expulsion of the Crutchs from the orphanage.
Mr. Wade was played by actor Wilfred Lucas.
