Effie is one of the bespectacled girls asking for Alfalfa Switzer, "the king of the crooners." She also appears in a Broadway number in The Pinch Singer, in a dance with Daniel Boone in Arbor Day and in the seats watching Alfalfa fight Butch in Came The Brawn.
Effie was played by Betsy Gay.
