The Short[]

Plot: The gang borrows thirty-seven cents from Butch's loan shark operation to care for a stray dog with two broken legs. When the dog turns out to be a police mascot, an officer gives the kids a dollar for taking care of it, but they lose the dollar to a goat which eats it. Desperate to pay off Butch, Alfalfa reasons that if they got one dollar for taking care of one dog, they could make much more by going into business on a large scale. Pretty soon, several pet owners in Greenpoint are missing their dogs, and the police bust up the Rascals' scheme. The dogs are returned to the happy owners, and the police remind the kids that you can't sell kindness, replacing the lost dollar with their own kiddie car.
Quotes:

  • "I hope you get a bellyache!" - Buckwheat, angrily insulting the goat who ate their dollar.

Notes/Trivia:

  • This was the last return of Scott Beckett as Cousin Wilbur.
  • Mickey do not appear in this short which means this short takes place before Joy Scouts, this is also the only short since his first appearances where he dose not appear until his last appearances.
