The Short[]
Plot: Inspired by the yacht belonging to Johnny Downs's father, the gang goes searching for buried treasure with a makeshift craft that barely stays afloat and a so-called treasure map given to them by Captain Tuttle who tore it from off a map of Catalina Island. The kids take off to find the treasure but run out of gas on a small island that looks like the one on their map. They start digging, but they are unaware a movie crew is on the island. Actors dressed as natives and animals decide to have fun with the young treasure hunters, but the Rascals soon attack back with coconuts and fireworks as weapons. Meanwhile, Farina meets up with a playful chimpanzee and ends up giving some of his clothes to it. The parents finally arrive to collect their children. Farina's mother mistakes the chimp for her son and proceeds to give the animal a spanking. After she sets the chimp down and realizes her mistake, the chimp kicks her, sending her somersaulting across the beach and into the ocean.

Notes/Trivia:
- In this short, the Rascals' hometown seems to be near Los Angeles; later in the series, it gets moved temporarily to the East Coast.
- Johnny Downs's character is spelled "Johnnie" in this film, and Jay R.'s goes by the nickname "Specks."
- The name of the gang's boat is the "Treasure Finder."
- According to their caps, Mickey is the "Captin," Mary is the "Captin's Mate," Johnnie is the "2nd Captin," Jackie is the "Bosn," and Farina is the "Seecook." Joe's cap doesn't have a title, and Specks's cap appears to end in "ft-Mate," possible "Aft-Mate" or "Left-Mate."
