Bumbo and Spanky

Bumbo is a native from Borneo who becomes partially trained by a sideshow manager named George. He has the mentality of a child and can be docile to a point. He has a veracious appetite, seen eating anything and everything, but he really loves candy, calling it "Yum-yum-eat-'em-up." When he arrives in Greenpoint, George's nephew, Spanky and friends confuse him for George and let him free. Bumbo chases the kids back to the McFarland Residence where he frightens both the kids and the parents after eating everything he finds in the kitchen.
Bumbo was played by retired boxer John Lester Johnson.
